As educators we know students learn best when they use fun and relevant lessons and activities. We decided at Memeingful English to explore the world of memes to provide the best content and opportunities for learning English language skills and to deliver it through a channel of creativity, fun, and excitement. MEME-ingful English was founded with the busy teacher and the modern student in mind. Many people use memes as a mean of communication in their daily lives, so why not use memes to effectively improve our students’ language skills and share some good laughs together for a more enjoyable learning experience?
Happy meme-ing and happy teaching!
One of today’s most popular forms of entertainment is sharing memes amongst friends and family. Memes describe personality traits, current mood, and trends through humor, sarcasm, and irony. Learning with impactful, relatable and fun memes provides an opportunity for students to discuss different cultural values and gain a better understanding of the English language. These days there are entire websites dedicated to the creation, generation and sharing of memes, constituting part of students' daily lives. We hope your students will be able to learn and improve their language skills while developing deeper relationships in the school environment and also sharing some laughs together.

"I am an English teacher and PhD student from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and I have been working as a teacher since 2006 when I began as a teaching assistant in a bilingual school. I’ve received my bachelor’s degree in Language & Literature in 2014 from Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP). I was awarded a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistantship (FLTA) to teach Portuguese at Michigan State University (MSU) – where I met Chad! – in 2015/2016. When I’m not teaching, you can find me playing with my absolutely adorable dogs (you will see them later in the book), traveling around, watching series, listening to music, and, of course, sharing memes."
